Olympic effect already well over

The boost that hosting the Olympics gave to Britons’ eagerness to participate in sport and physical activity has already waned significantly, recent studies show.

One of the main objectives of London 2012 (apart from making shed loads of cash) was to get people more engaged in sport (and make more money through that if possible).

Professor Richard Zimmerman from the University of Bone-idleness confirmed, “Our research indicates that, less than two days after the end of the closing ceremony, everyone’s forgotten about their pledges to do more sport.”

45-year-old couch potato Ron added, “Personally I was going to walk to the shop every day but now I’ve adjusted my target to the more realistic goal of getting up to get the remote when the 2016 Games start in Rio.”
