Back pages still withholding Olympic stories which do not discuss Beckham omission

Always the main story

Fears of London 2012 becoming the David Beckham show have already been proven correct after the news of his omission from the football squad has resulted in endless stories about him, and absolutely none about the 18 players who were selected.

Sven Goran Eriksson weighed in on a subject he knows nothing about – selecting the best players for a national team.

Pressure is growing on the reluctant Stuart Pearce to rebrand the Team GB football squad Team DB, with the DB standing for the outrageously treated David Beckham.

With less than a month until the start of the Games, time is running out for the media to stop talking about Beckham and start talking about the Olympics.

I love the D-Beck, he is such a heart throb.

I laughed when I read he had been left out for “footballing reasons”. I don’t doubt Pearce is telling the truth, but that’s the exact same thing Hodgson said when he left Ferdinand out!

I think Hodgson was probably talking rubbish to be honest. Be so interesting to learn what happens with Terry’s trial.
Beckham of course has done really well for us over the years but the media coverage is truly extraordinary. There must be ten times more stories about him than the rest of the Olympics put together!
      Thanks for reading mate.
