Sergio Busquets floored by sizeable raindrop

Spotting a pass

Spain’s progression to the knock-out stages of Euro 2012 was marred as midfield diver Sergio Busquets appeared to pick up a serious injury when a raindrop hit him as the players walked off the pitch.

A small drop of moisture fell from the heavens onto his forehead, sending him crashing to earth quicker than a clean tackle where the opponent did not get close to touching him.

Marca reported, “Sergio Busquets is in a critical condition after thinking that a raindrop was in fact a stray Croatian forearm.

“He has been transferred to a local hospital where he’s still to realise he’s not going to get anyone sent off.

“Despite the tragic circumstances, we have a funny feeling he’ll be fit for the quarter final.”

And he is some kind of toughman. Just a disgrace to the sport, because it is certainly not the first time :).

He’s been at the top of the game for years.

I believe a retrospective ‘yellow’ card should be awarded to players seen later on video – cheating (diving, getting players booked, play acting etc)

Many would agree but Fifa etc tend to prefer to stick with the referee’s decision.
