Liverpool parade Carling Cup in second-hand open-top Ford Focus

Wrong turn

Liverpool upstaged Manchester City’s bus parade of the Premier League trophy by doing the same with the Carling Cup in a Ford Focus today.

It also lacked a roof after disillusioned fans tore it off whilst trying to get to Stewart Downing.

Liverpool police had to contend with crowds of up to 40 people, consisting mainly of the players’ wives and children.

Manager Kenny Dalglish drove the lumbering vehicle erratically, whilst Jordan Henderson was conspicuously absent like he has been for most of the season.

Finally, after a very troubled tour, Dalglish lost control and sent the whole club careering into the wilderness east of Kirkby.

It is unknown if or when Liverpool will ever return.

Did Carragher steal the hubcaps before or after the parade finished?
