Manchester United Bebe signing finally recognised as potentially criminal

Football fans across the country have reacted with relief to news that the police will investigate how Manchester United could ever spend £7.4 million on a player like Bebe.

The Portuguese was signed in August 2010 and the club have been trying desperately to sell him ever since.

£7.4 million overpriced

A police statement confirmed, “The signing of Bebe was obviously so misguided it at least borders on criminal malpractice.

“His performances on the pitch have subsequently added to the charges.

“Or lack of performances, to be more precise.”

Like taking £7.4 million from a Bebe

Support for the investigation has come from United fans themselves, who have suffered more than most from the unlawful transaction.

Stretford-ender Gary said, “Me and a lot of other supporters have long been wondering how we paid so much for Bebe.

“There was even a petition going around to get Fergie up in front of a football version of the Leveson Inquiry.

“Except with the hope that our Inquiry would actually find evidence of criminal activity.

“Although, with Bebe still on our books, it’s staring them right in the face.”

United say they will co-operate with any police investigation.
