Joey Barton embroiled in row with Twitter spam-bot

Concerns are growing for QPR’s Joey Barton as he remains locked in a war of tweets with an automated spam account on Twitter.

The club’s midfield Twitter consultant replied furiously to a tweet from the bot which read:

“Joey Barton is a bloghead” trending in London. Find out why.

Barton’s response was: Who you calling a bloghead, muppet?!

He was then further provoked by a later tweet: “Mark Hughes is the man” trending in London. Find out why.

Followers of Barton are increasingly worried as he seems to be struggling to keep his tweets within the 140-character limit.

You’ll need to send him that message via Twitter if you want him to get it.

Sad thing is, I can actually just about see this happening. Then him claiming he knew it was a spambot all along, but was just fishing.
