Counsellors in the north of London are have been reporting that their answer-machines are being clogged up on an hourly basis by Gooners who are at their annual peak of football-watching misery.

Neutrals watched on with glee as Arsene Wenger’s flaky team was ripped to shreds and humiliated by AC Milan in the Champions League, before the same happened at Sunderland in the FA Cup yesterday.

One desolate message went, “We’ve already been battered in all competitions…it’s only February but I just want it to be over…”

To seek professional help

Experienced counsellor Jan Morgan explained, “We’ve actually started to expect this influx of calls at this time of year for the past seven seasons, so we’re well-prepared.

“As general guidance I would say to Gooners that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

“Arsene Wenger can’t go on for ever.”
