Glutton for punishment

Some close to Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric have expressed worries that the Serbian could have an “unhealthy attraction” to football clubs swamped in administration woes and other financial difficulties.

Mandaric was a key figure when Portsmouth went into administration the first time and of course was in the dock recently over payments he made to ‘Arry Redknapp during their time together at the club, but it was new reports suggesting he could be interested in doomed SPL outfit Rangers which have forced many to speak out.

When pressed, Mandaric conceded, “Having been constantly involved with financial problems at various football clubs for so many years now, it is something I find myself being drawn towards.

“I can’t hear the phrase ‘possible ten-point deduction’ without getting aroused in some peculiar way.

“Right now I’m trying to resist the seductive call of Rangers’ doomed balance sheets, but it’s a real struggle.

“I’m going to have a sit-down with ‘Arry’s dog over the weekend and we’ll decide if we want to partner up again to help them with their tax woes.”
