Great Britain struggling in Davis Cup tie against Vatican City

Prayers welcome

British tennis looks to be slipping further towards oblivion as they lost rubbers to nimble inhabitant’s of the Roman Catholic church’s ultimate fortress, Vatican City.

Andy Murray ruled himself out with a cold sore, leaving the results of tens of millions of pounds of investment by the LTA to get shredded by ageing priests and bishops.

Pope Benedict XVI is rumoured to be preparing to partner one of the other sacred clergy in the potentially deciding doubles’ rubber, reportedly feeling “sprightly” after getting out of bed and confident that “God is on my side”.

If Britain cannot avoid defeat, they will face a humiliation play-off in the Europe – Africa region against an isolated tribe from Ghana.

I heard that Pimilico is thinking again of putting back into place a border again and come out of the UK due to our tennis exploits of late – Passports at the ready folks! Will they join the euro – maybe?

Eurozone looking like less of a disaster than British tennis.
