Argentina and England to have international football play-off for Falkland Islands
Global authorities have acted after posturing between Argentina and England over the contested Falkland Islands threatened to reach toxic levels yet again.
Words have been exchanged with increasing intensity in recent weeks following alleged increased military presence by the UK, despite there not being conflict in the region since times proceeding Diego Maradonna starting a war in 1986, and it has been decided that only another bitter football match between the loathsome nations involved can settle the dispute.
Argentina have the best player in the world in Lionel Messi and a fearful strike force to select from, but it’s thought that England’s players might be better suited to a more physical confrontation.
The feud over the Falklands has been going on for decades, and pundits suggest that combative individuals, like a simmering John Terry, could give the English the edge: “They just need an English manager to whip them up into the right sort of frenzy with appropriate British slang, abusive language, passive-aggression and furious gesturing.”
