Liverpool send Andy Carroll on loan to British Embassy in Syria

Diplomat?

Always a club to defy public opinion, Liverpool have decided to send Andy Carroll on loan to Syria as a replacement for the various ambassadors that have been recalled.

Britain, America and France are among those who have recalled staff as the situation in the country becomes increasingly unstable, but Liverpool believe that Carroll’s physical approach to his work might be more useful in Homs than in the Premier League.

Kenny Dalglish grumbled, “With the UN hesitating and Russia and China taking the mick, Liverpool have taken the initiative to offload Carroll and send him to Syria where his unique style of roughing up defences might actually work.

“Anyone who saw the match against Spurs will agree that Andy would be formidable in any environment which requires physical contact whilst not demanding that he kick a football the right way.

“We’re sure many will criticise us for our public stance on this matter but we’re beyond the point of caring as far as that’s concerned.”
