Mancini: “I’d still take Suarez over Tevez”

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has stunned English football before his side’s Carling Cup clash with Liverpool by admitting preferring the Reds’ Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez to City’s own stroppy South American, Carlos Tevez.

Suarez has seriously trouble Liverpool’s image due to the racism allegations and his general behaviour anyway, yet Mancini claims he still has more to offer his paymasters than his Argentinian counterpart.

Mancini explained, “Obviously you wouldn’t go near either of them – especially if you’re not white – but if I had to pick I’d take Suarez.

“His pathetic attempt at an apology to Patrice Evra showed more effort and commitment than I’ve seen from Carlos except for when I tell him it’s home time.

“Fortunately we won’t be seeing either tonight so chances are the match won’t descend into a brawl.

“How boring.”
