Arsenal secure short-term Bendtner replacement

Reports today claim that Arsenal have succeeded in their efforts to lure a high-profile Nicolas Bendtner replacement to the club.

Arsene Wenger had a number of candidates on his shortlist but opted for former Gunners hero Thierry Henry to fill the gaping void left by Bendtner’s departure.

Looking to emulate the great Dane

Wenger said, “I must admit I am mildly-enthusiastic about getting Thierry to come back as he is one of few players in the world who could follow in Bendtner’s overblown footsteps.

“Robin Van Persie has been filling in adequately of course but he will need some help in the new year.

“Since Nicolas left to Sunderland the squad has really struggled to underwhelm and has found it difficult to fail to perform to the supporters’ expectations.

“I honestly believe that signing Henry now that he is way past his best is one of the best possible ways to ensure that the team flops as magnificently as usual as we approach the ‘business end’ of the season.”

If he doesn’t score a hatrick on his debut the knives will be out. Arsenal could be setting themselves up for a fall here.

It will be entertaining either way.

The guys will be fine. Yes we need more fire power. But my Gunners are still in striking distance of the leader board.

Henry might be needed after last night!
