FA intrigued by Arab League disciplinary procedures

The English FA – tentative at the mere thought of having to write yet another letter to Sir Alex Ferguson for disciplinary reasons – is said to be seeking contact details of their counterparts in the Arab League.

The FA have struggled to come up with sanctions that repeat offenders such as Ferguson even are aware of, let alone are strong enough to modify behaviour, and are looking to take advice over how to replicate strict moves like the recent punishments aimed at Syria.

You cannot be Syrian!

An FA spokesman confirmed, “We don’t know which teams play in this so-called Arab League but we hear some of them get a stiff telling-off.

“We’re not sure if it’s a cultural thing either but we need some inspiration because for some reason our dreaded touchline bans don’t seem to be as effective as they used to be.

“Apparently they’re angry about a certain management team disallowing access to people called League Monitors, which sounds very similar to what Ferguson does to referees who don’t do what he says and journalists who don’t think he’s God.”
