Coleen Rooney to tell Leveson inquiry media targeted husband

Coleen Rooney is to give evidence to the Leveson inquiry today about how the press targeted her defenceless husband in order to get more gossip.

Mrs Rooney will do her best to upstage JK Rowling and Sienna Miller by emotionally recounting how shocked she was at reading details about her private life in the gutter press which she had not sold as part of an “exclusive interview” to either ‘Hello’ or ‘OK!’ magazines.

She is expected to express her disgust at finding reporters had slipped a note into Wayne’s lunchbox during a day at the training ground.

It is thought she could not wrap him up in a blanket to protect him because it would aggravate fears that he was nursing a serious injury.

Coleen was also concerned about Wayne getting ‘blagged’, which is when sly journalists trick others into giving away personal information, such as what she had for breakfast.

He looks so pleased with himself in that photo. Is that when he sent his first text message?
