Stewart Downing beats Greek ministers in poll for most useless left-winger in Europe

In a light-hearted poll conducted to assess the viewpoints of countless people across Europe suffering from the financial crisis and also from poor football, Liverpool’s Stewart Downing has pulled off a shock by being voted more useless on the left-wing than Greece’s cabinet ministers.

Considering the state that George Papandreou’s old friends have led their country into, this result is by far Downing’s most impressive achievement of the season, and probably of his whole career.

One Greek protestor on the streets of Athens told us, “Obviously our national debt situation is horrific but no more so than watching Downing trying to pick out a Liverpool team-mate with a cross into the box.

“Many would question how we could vote for him over the government which has let the country drop into a position worse than Blackburn Rovers, but we didn’t have to pay £20 million for them.

“Although we’re going to be coughing up far more in interest repayments on EU loans in the long-run I suppose.”

Ha ha, funny as usual but I can’t agree mate….Downing is a quality player and once he settles down will show that…..it’s all about opinions though I suppose!
