No-one actually able to tell whether Andy Murray is upset or not

Many sport journalists are under pressure for writing that Andy Murray was “upset” and “dejected” after withdrawing from the ATP World Tour Finals because of injury.

Criticism has come from many English viewers who cannot understand how those in the media could possibly have known that Murray’s demeanour was any more miserable than usual.

Jeff from Norwich pointed out, “They’re writing all these things about how bad he’s feeling but I saw the press conference and it was exactly like any of those after he’s won a quarter-final at Wimbledon.

“He might be over the moon for all we know.”

Liz from Peckham added, “It’s true he said he was feeling bad, but he did so with the same expression and tone of voice he puts on for one of his Masters series acceptance speeches.

“He always keeps us guessing doesn’t he, the joker!”

Ha, I liked this one! The headline made me do a snort and bogeys came out.

Thanks! That is exactly the kind of reaction I’m hoping to provoke. I’ll keep picking away at it.
