City owner to find £194.9 million down back of sofa

Manchester City have announced that their owner has lost a total of £194.9 million in loose change down the back of his sofa this year.

Sheikh Mansour’s carelessness may have been made to look worse by wasting about £250,000 per week on paying Carlos Tevez for reasons unknown.

Brian Marwood told us, “This season we’re looking to finally overtake United in every way, and this breathtaking financial loss is another step in the right direction that even they can’t compete with.”

However, the club insisted that such losses would not be repeated in the future as dubious deals like the sponsorship agreed with Etihad Airlines mean that cooking the books will become easier than winning a derby at Old Trafford.

“Obviously we’re aware of the new Uefa financial fair play rules and this is a concern going forward,” Marwood noted.

“But it’s just so difficult to mention ‘fair play’ and Uefa or FIFA in the same sentence these days without sounding absolutely absurd.’

I wonder if the Thai owners could afford a lifetime’s supply of chewing gum or Ferguson? He goes through it at one heck of a rate.
