FA already lining up next overpaid Italian leader

Silvio Berlusconi’s resignation as Italian Prime Minister has caused activity at the English FA, who are looking to line up the next overpaid foreign successor to Fabio Capello for when the current manager finally loses interest in taking so much money for doing so little work at the European Championships next summer.

However, the prospect of Berlusconi immediately being brought in was quashed last night when Capello was given breathing space after Spain bailed out his dubious selection technique by turning in a performance which was about as effective as Greece’s economic policy.

Berlusconi had expressed his upset at the reaction to the news of his impending resignation, although he did acknowledge that “this prepares me well for the treatment I’m going to get from the uncultured animals in the English media”.

When asked about taking over at England, he said he was “absolutely delighted to have found another role where I can rake in substantial sums for frolicking all-year round whilst neglecting my actual responsibilities”.

Concerning his plans from now until his start date is hastily brought forward following England’s pathetic exit from next year’s Euros, he indicated he was “hoping to take a well-deserved break for a few months to spend some quality time with my current squad of international supermodels”.

The BBC confirmed that Berlusconi has been a “major playa” in Italian politics for 17 years.

I’d like to see Berlusconi’s “bunga bunga” tactics employed to quash our rigid four man midfield formation. Definitely a more gung-ho approach is necessary.

Aye I’d agree with you – Frank et al. need a bit of inspiration!
