OpCapita “will not pay £2 for Everton”

Investment group OpCapita, who today bought retail store chain Comet for £2, have insisted they will not continue their interest in buying Everton unless they can negotiate an even cheaper deal.

Everton have claimed that they are actively looking for someone to take over the club, but OpCapita have made clear they will not pay anywhere near the princely sum they parted with for Comet.

A spokesman for the group announced, “Discussions are ongoing although Robert Elstone and the board need to stop paying hardball because they don’t seem to want to come down from £1.50 and that’s never going to happen.

“We’re looking forward to transferring David Moyes to a store manager position in one of our new electrical goods outlets, so that he can get the most out of a different set of limited individuals.

“He’ll probably have more chance of winning the league there too.”

Everton supporters’ club the Blue Union reiterated they are not trying to get rid of owner Bill Kenwright, but simply encourage others to hurry up and buy him out.

    Moyes store manager! Very good.

Those Blue Union boneheads rile me… Who are you exactly protesting to you bunch of numpties? Their byline of “the club has stagnated under current management” stinks worse than a plate of Scouse. Bill Kenwright is a millionaire theatre impresario, not a billionaire oligarch. He loves the club, has Everton’s best interest at heart and has publicly expressed his want for new investment. (Just some things needed to be said).

This is very good. I can well imagine the blue side of Liverpool crying in anguish when they read this.

Everton supporters tend to see the funny side, as the gentleman above proves. It is unfortunate that they have been stuck in the same situation for so long, seeing other clubs spending willy-nilly. Guess you have to either laugh or cry though.
