Sunderland fine Bramble for attending training

November 8, 2011 Leave a comment Go to comments

After the latest disciplinary breach by their disgraced defender, Sunderland have fined Titus Bramble for trying to join a practice match during a squad training session.

Bramble’s defensive abilities have been under even more speculation than usual recently following a string of alleged offences, and the management felt they had to act after the rogue centre-half tried to play the offside trap by standing behind the goal.

Steve Bruce regretfully told us, “Considering Titus’s recent issues off the pitch, and especially considering his recent issues on it, we told him to clear off.

“However it seems he’s bored of hiding from everyone and wanted to learn to defend again, although it was clear he was never going to get it before.

“Unfortunately we’ve had to fine him. If he carried on our attacking players were in danger of picking up injuries – all of them from split sides.”
