Pardew urged to resign while ahead
Footballing experts have encouraged Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew to tender his resignation before their superb start to the season comes to end with an inevitable defeat and he gets sacked rashly in the immediate aftermath.
Newcastle beat Everton to temporarily reach the dizzy heights of second in the table, but with a tough run of fixtures on the horizon, owner Mike Ashley’s fingers are already itching to pick up the phone to give Pardew ‘the call’.
Mark Lawrenson warned, “Better to jump before he’s pushed.
“Pardew’s done a fantastic job so far, but that’s not going to help him when they get shredded by Man City next weekend.
“If the club stick with him there’s a chance they could actually achieve something and that’s just unthinkable.”
Many Newcastle supporters are reported to be restless and concerned by their team having had the same manager for almost one year.
Ha, good one!
Newcastle have been a joke ever since Keegan left.
I have been having regular nose bleeds while watching Newcastle hit the dizzying heights in the league this season….god knows what the players feel like! Have to be honest and say that I was not sold when Pardew was appointed, but he has managed to get that back line and the rest of the squad all working for each other.
You certainly have! A fantastic start and frustrating for those of us who are used to poking fun. Tricky run coming up so we’ll see who the club handles it.
