Premier League holds emergency meeting to find solution to Stoke City

In a drastic emergency move made to avoid an impending catastrophe for English football, the Premier League clubs are to hold a summit meeting in the style of the EU countries in order to negotiate a bailout for Stoke City so that they stop compromising the image of the game.

Arsene Wenger is to assume the role of Angela Merkel – an established leader with unique financial ideas who is clinging to the last fragments of support offered by his weary and disillusioned followers.

All the other Premier League bosses are expected to attend to safeguard the interests of their clubs as an end to Stoke’s long-ball and long throw-in bombardment tactics is sought.

The ideal solution is likely to involve a substantial bailout package which will finally allow Tony Pulis to buy some decent players.

Upon arriving, Wenger told us, “This is the biggest crisis the Premier League has faced since Derby County somehow got promoted.”

Ah, good old Stoke. It always cracks me up when someone like Mark Lawrenson comes out with the line “but could they do it on a cold night in Stoke…?”.

No mate, the likes of Barcelona would be utterly helpless when playing against a bunch of cloggers like that.
