Following Sven-Goran Eriksson’s sacking by Leicester City, he has announced that he is fully prepared to state his undying love for any club which is daft enough to pay him too much.

Leicester’s management have suddenly joined a very select group of people who empathise with the English FA.

“We always knew he was a bit of a fox, but unfortunately this didn’t work out as we’d hoped,” read a statement from Vichai Raksriaksorn.

Eriksson’s reaction was typically calm, “Well, I’m obviously disappointed not to be enjoying continuing payments after the end of the contract, like with England, but I’ll survive.

“I’ll take this time to reflect and consider which club in England can come up with the most surprising pay-packet.

“I’m waiting for Neil Warnock to finally lose the plot at QPR before revealing how I’ve always felt a strong connection to that team.

“Whoever they are.”

Sven loses the battle of the dressing room again. He needs to stop being so coy about the photos of Ulrika Johnson on his phone.

Who’d have thought? – Nancy lasting longer than Sven this season.
