French horrified at Lievremont’s “English” comments

Alarm bells rang across France and beyond as the national rugby side’s coach Marc Lievremont said he was already thinking about getting a hangover if his team won the final against New Zealand – an admission which draws comparisons to the disastrous behaviour of their English counterparts.

“I’m still thinking about the rugby but my main priority is to wake up with a hangover the morning after, preferably in a room full of equally-hungover, gorgeous women,” he told a crowd of horrified journalists.

The comments were immediately condemned by many from France, who argued that they would only expect such remarks from English players such as Mike Tindall.

One French fan in Auckland told us, “Maybe he was joking but everyone is frightened that he would even attempt humour at something which brings the English to mind.

“We want to watch our team pull off a miraculous victory against New Zealand, not see pictures of Thierry Dusautoir with his face in a woman’s bosom on Monday.

“If that happens we could all end up jumping off a ferry or something stupid like that!”
