Harry Redknapp concerned by players trying in Europa League

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is becomingly increasingly agitated by a number of players at the club who consistently try in Europa League matches.

Tottenham beat Rubin Kazan 1-0 despite fielding a much-changed line-up, and the manager expressed his concern that the players could have the wrong priorities.

“We won, but that doesn’t seem to be what playing in the Europa League is about, does it?” he said afterwards.

“Look at Man City last year – all those expensive, world-class signings not putting in an ounce of effort between them.

“That’s what we’ve come to expect from our footballers these days, but some of my lads here don’t fit in with the trend.

“It’s great for the club of course, but that’s not the point anymore, is it?”
